Tel Aviv, Israel (30 March): The presentation of the Russian version of How Not to Become a Spy at the Babel Book Store in Tel Aviv was well received, though Justin failed to convince any of the 20 members of the audience that it’s time to come home. He did, however, manage to justify his actions and explain his immigration to Russia. Following the presentation Justin, Alla and Max gave a reading from the book: in specific, the scene where Justin’s request for permission to drive to Udmurtia along with his friend Yevgeny Odiyankov is rejected by the authorities. The two set off anyway, though by the end of the trip Yevgeny’s high opinion of foreign made vehicles was brought down to earth.
